Ruth R McLean, 78, formerly of North Creek and most recently of Warrensburg, passed away peacefully early Sunday, May 3, 2009, at the Glens Falls Hospital surrounded by her loving children.
Born November 11, 1930 in Kingston, PA, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Ruth (Parks) Rogers.
Well known for her sharp-wit and loving heart, she leaves a space in many lives that will be difficult to fill.
She had a passion for sailing, was an accomplished equestrian, and avid skier. Ruth was a devoted member of the 70+ Ski Club, the Gore Organization of Frequent Skiers (GOOFS). She was also a noteworthy contributor to Our Town Theater Group of North Creek. Ruth loved doing crossword puzzles, playing bridge, entertaining friends, and doing volunteer work while she was able. She had a host of friends from many parts of the country.
Besides her mother, who died in childbirth and her father, Ruth is also predeceased by her loving husband, Mick C McLean and two brothers Terrence and Andrew Rogers.
Ruth is survived by her five children, Laura Curley and her husband, Kenny Bullock of Anacortes, WA, Michael Caggiano and his wife, Kimberly of Cape Coral, Fl, Terrence Caggiano and his wife, Tarama of Naples, Fl, Mike McLean and his wife, Hilly of Goose Creek SC, Kathleen Galusha and her husband, Patrick of Warrensburg; and also by a loving brother, James Rogers and his wife, Joan of Florida.
Ruth was also blessed with six wonderful grandchildren, Michelle, Heather, Jessica, Devin, Taylor and Justin and eight very beautiful great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Her family wants to express a heartfelt thank you to all the wonder staff at Dr. Robert Sponzo’s office and all the staff on floor T3 at Glens Falls Hospital for their loving care and compassionate support.
Friends may call on Ruth’s family from 2 to 4 pm Wednesday at the Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will follow the visitation at 4 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the American Cancer Society.
