This message is intended for Claire Demas. Claire, I am overwhelmed by the news of the loss of Ken. I'm sure you know he was a huge part of my life at such an important time in a young man's life. Being a part of the Mamaroneck Tigers Baseball team from 1970-1973, with Ken coaching us, was one of the highlights of my life. Ken helped me to become a much more confident person and helped me to develop not only as a baseball player, but as a caring and loving teammate and person in general. I can only hope that things are progressing as well as can be expected for you and the family. I send my love and well wishes to you. I came to realize over time that I loved Ken and will always carry him in my heart. With all my heart - Michael Anderson 1800 South Brentwood Blvd. Apt 824 St Louis, MO 63144

It was with great sadness that we read Ken's obituary in the New York Times. We enjoyed the times shared with you when our kids were together in Windward, and afterwards a well. Ken was a great inspiration for my staff at a special ed program in Washington Height, when he guided us in a team building workshop. Ken was always upbeat and positive. Our condolencenes to Clair, Corey and Colin. John, Anne and Sarah Mahaney

Dear Ken, Yesterday I attended the services honoring your life and honor who you were. I spoke for a bit with your nephews and like everyone else there you changed their lives for the better. Your adventure magic continues thru all you touched and will now touch the lives of others for generations. You brought me back in to the Adventure fold and I am still there after all these years. Thank you my friend and pied piper. Chuck

Claire, I still think about the bill Ken sent us for the damage we did to your house. The fun shops were great. I have not seen you two in awhile but Ken will always be close to my heart. My deepest sympathy, Charlie Harrington

Ken, quite simply was one of the "good guys" that you hope to meet in your lifetime. His smile and warmth brought joy to every situation and every group of people. I once asked him, "what the heck does the coach say when he walks to the mound to talk with a pitcher." He responded, "two words...Throw Strikes!" The was quintessential Ken. I feel so fortunate to have worked with him over my adventure education career, having met him in 1978 when we were both trainers with Project Adventure. Claire, Colin and Corey, I am so very sorry for your loss of such a wonderful husband and father.

Ken was truly special. I was lucky enough to work with him in several workshops at Project Adventure. Always always smiling, his upbeat personality brought joy to all those who worked with him. Ken shared his knowledge of athletics and adventure unselfishly and with great wisdom to everybody. This is a big loss. I will remember him fondly forever.

Dear Claire & Family, I was shocked and so saddened to hear of Ken's passing. He was a wonderful man... I met him over 30 years ago when I worked for Project Adventure and he became one of our first Certified Trainers. Everyone thought the world of him both personally and professionally. We are having a PA Reunion this Sat., and we will honor his memory. You are in our thoughts and prayers and our hearts go out to you. Bonnie

A great man, gone too soon. Ken was not only my high school physical education teacher in junior high but also a friend. When he and Claire lived just up from the street from my family, they asked me to take care of their house during the summers while they were upstate. After college, I along my brothers Mark and Jeff and some close friends stayed in their chalet in the Adirondacks for New Years Eve on several occasions. Teacher and friend, we all will miss you but we know that you are now one of Gods Angels, watching over your family and friends.
