Mr and Mrs Simmes, I have been happy to know Lori and work with her (in Brussels) as a "colleague of next door's office" for several years. We both loved Italy and had often chats about it. Lori with her beautiful and always present smile, her wonderful personality, has been more than a colleague, she was a friend. I have not forgotten yet how much she made me laugh the las time I saw her at her farewell dinner (which took place at an Italian restaurant - couldn't be anywhere else!)and how much I missed her after she went back to the U.S. Time will not erase the nice moments I shared with her

I had the pleasure of being a colleague and friend of Lori during her stay in Brussels. She wrote to me in March and told me of her condition. I wanted to come and visit her this summer but somethings just cannot be. I'm at a loss for what to say...therefore, I'll speak of her generosity, laughter and friendship. I recall the surprise party Lori threw for me. I also remember us going to the antique market and buying many items...we actually strapped a bed to her VW bug...it was so funny. We had so many wonderful times together and the memories will always be there.
