Obituary of Ronald C. Vincent

Please share a memory of Ronald to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Brant Lake: Ronald Charles Vincent, golfer, skier, and electrician passed away Monday, June 3, 2013 at his home; he was 76 years young. Born September 13, 1936 in Schenectady, he was the son of the late Charles and Theresa Vincent. Ronald graduated from Nott Terrace High School in 1955, and married his high school sweetheart, Marlene a year later. He served in the United States Army for two years, from 1955-1957, before spending six years in the Army Reserve. During his time spent in the service, Ronald acted as a Senior Launcher Crewman of the Nike Ajax Missile. After his discharge, he was employed by Niagara Mohawk Power Corp. for 33 years in the gas and service departments in Schenectady, Albany, Glens Falls, and Chestertown. He was forced into retirement early, as he had a heart transplant in 1989 in Pittsburgh, PA. Over the years, Ronald and his wife traveled to a number of different places. In 1984 the couple settled in Brant Lake, in a beautiful chalet, that he later built two additions onto; he was very talented with his hands, and could create anything. Ronnie was a communicant of St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in Brant Lake, St. Cecilia’s Roman Catholic Church in Warrensburg, and Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Hague. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, American Legion, Brant Lake Planning Board, and the Schenectady Auxiliary Police Department. Ronnie has many friends and was well known for his wit and story telling. He was a dog lover, and had many devoted canine companions throughout his life, presently Ebony and Ivory. Ronald is survived by his beloved wife, Marlene of Brant Lake; two daughters, Terri Nobleman and Kelli Rodriguez and her husband, Vidal; two cherished grandsons, Vidal Vincent and Francis Ronald Rodriguez, who spent their summers in Brant Lake with him; a granddaughter, Victoria Hannah Flanders; a sister, Joan Niecey; and several cousins and close friends. Friends may call on Ronnie’s family from 6 to 8 pm, Thursday, June 6, 2013 at Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am, Friday at St. Cecilia’s Roman Catholic Church, Main Street, Warrensburg with Father Richard Broderick, Father George Fleming and Father Paul Cox, officiating. Rite of Committal with Military Honors will follow in Brant Lake Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations in Ronald’s name to the Wounded Warriors Project or the Donate Life America.
