Obituary of Eyvonne P. Johnson

Lake George: Eyvonne P. Johnson, 74, of Truesdale Hill Rd., went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born November 5, 1938 on Top of the World on beautiful Lake George, she was the daughter of the late Daisy (Cleveland) Ackley Weeks and Lee Ackley. Eyvonne was a lifelong resident of the area, growing up in Warrensburg, attending Warrensburg Central School. She married Vernon “John” Johnson on February 27, 1956. Eyvonne worked at various jobs including Evergreen Haven Nursing Home, Warrensburg Central School, managed Diner 23, and was employed by David and Chuck Mineo until her disability rendered her unable to work. Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her step-father, Frank Weeks; sisters, Genevieve Ackley, Marion Deniston and Elaine Sprague; and her brothers, Teddy, Lewis, James, and William Ackley; her sister in law, Jean Ackley Eyvonne is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, John of Lake George; three daughters who she loved very much, Joann Dick, Shari Blydenburgh, and Jonna Converse and her husband, Brian all of Warrensburg; seven grandchildren, the apples of her eyes, Joe Dick and his wife, Ricki, Randylee and Kayla VanDerwarker, Kendall and Jerico Converse, and Mackenzie and Duncan Blydenburgh; six great-grandchildren, also the apples of her eyes, Jo Jo, Harley, Jayden, and Jacob Dick, and Austin and Nicholas Washburn; her “adopted” grandchildren, Valan Feliciano, and Jasmine and Arielle Tolentino; one brother, Kenneth Ackley and his wife, “Crissy” of Warrensburg. She also leaves behind two sister-in-laws, Rita and Gertrude Ackley; brother-in-laws, George Sprague Jr., Robert Johnson and his wife, Andrea, Richard Johnson and his wife, Eleanor, and Charles Johnson and his wife, Mary; a very special niece, Lori Combs; best friend, Eileen Baker; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends, including, Sue Wells and Sue Monroe. Friends may call on Eyvonne’s family from 12 to 3 pm, Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main Street, Warrensburg. A funeral service to celebrate her life will follow the visitation at 3:00 pm, Saturday at the funeral home with Sister Linda Hogan, Parish Life Director of St. Cecilia’s Roman Catholic Church officiating. Spring burial will take place in North Caldwell Cemetery, Lake George. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations in Eyvonne’s name to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38103 www.stjude.org/donate .
