Obituary of James E. Ball

MINERVA: James E. Ball of Minerva, NY, passed away on July 28, 2026, at the age of 70.

He was the son of the late Edward C. Ball and Claudia (Eddy) Ball. James worked as a truck driver for Curtis Lumber in Warrensburg and Stevenson Lumber in Indian Lake until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, crossword puzzles, reading, and spending time around campfires.

In addition to his parents, James was predeceased by his wife of 43 years, Rose Ball.

James is survived by his two daughters, Jennifer Ball of Minerva and Mary Jenks and her husband, Thomas, of Olmstedville; four grandsons, Jonathan Ball and his wife, Nicole Brown, of Minerva, Thomas Ball and his fiancée, Sunnie-Lee Tucker, of Johnsburg, and Landyn Jenks and Parker Jenks, both of Olmstedville; his great-grandson, Jayden Ball, whom James affectionately called "Boo-Boo"; his sister, Anne Hayes and her husband, Carl, of Minerva; and his niece, Carol Hayes of Glens Falls.

Donations in James's memory may be made to High Peaks Hospice, 1247 Dix Avenue, Hudson Falls, NY 12839.

In accordance with James's wishes, there will be no services.
