Obituary of Kimberly J. Urtz

SOUTH GLENS FALLS:  Kimberly J. Urtz, 56, of South Glens Falls, NY passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 25, 2026.

Kimberly was a student of Bolton Central School and a graduate of the Wesley CNA program.  She was a dedicated home health worker whose patients were more like family to her.

Kimberly loved nature, camping, hiking and gardening.  She was known to rescue orphaned bunnies and injured birds, nurse them back to health and returning them to the wild.  Kimberly was an amateur botanist and enjoyed learning about native plants and there healing properties.  She also loved a good thunderstorm and walking in the rain.  The next time you experience a thunderstorm please think of Kim.

Kimberly’s favorite quote was “Work like you don’t need the money, Dance like no one is watching, Love like you’ve never been hurt.”

She is survived by her mother, Sandi Aldrich of Bolton Landing; father John Urtz and brother Jeff Urtz both of Diamond Point; daughter Amy (Ken) Jamacy and two granddaughters, whom she adored Adalynn and Sydney of Tennessee; her best friend and soul sister Nikki (Todd) Colvin of Diamond Point; several aunts, uncles and cousins along with her beloved dog Dozer.

A Celebration of Kimberly’s Life will take place on Sunday, August 9, 2026 from 2pm-4pm, Bolton Conservation Club, 56 Edgecomb Pond Rd., Bolton Landing, NY.  Kimberly’s wish is that everyone wear black or purple.
