Please share a memory of Cheryl to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

POTTERSVILLE: Cheryl L. Marcheselli, 77 years old of Pottersville, NY passed away peacefully on June 24, 2026.

Cheryl was born on July 14, 1948, in Newton, New Jersey, to the late S. Thomas and Elaine (Halstead) Kinney. She grew up in Branchville, New Jersey, and graduated from Newton High School in 1966. Cheryl continued her education at William Paterson University, earning a bachelor's degree in Mathematics. She was active in Future Teachers and the play committee.

During her career, Cheryl worked as a systems programmer for several companies. While employed at Selective Insurance Company, she met Ken Marcheselli, who worked for the same company. What began with a casual drink soon blossomed into a lifelong love story. Cheryl and Ken were married on May 7, 1983, and celebrated 43 years of marriage this year.

Following Cheryl's diagnosis with Multiple Sclerosis, she was forced to retire early from Kraft Foods. After spending time in the Adirondacks and falling in love with the region's beauty and abundance of winter activities, Cheryl and Ken built their dream home in Pottersville, NY where they settled in 1989.

Before her illness limited her abilities, Cheryl was a talented quilter whose skill earned her a blue ribbon at the very first Sussex Farm and Horse Show she entered. In addition to quilting, she was highly accomplished in crocheting and knitting, creating countless handmade treasures for family and friends to enjoy for years to come.

Left to Cherish Cherly’s memory is her husband Kenneth Marcheselli of Pottersville; siblings Linda (Gary) Malone of New Jersey and Thomas Kinney of Sweden; brother-in-law Michael (Kathy) Marcheselli of North Carolina and sister-in-law Margaret Lynch of Washington State; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
