WARRENSBURG: Richard D. McKee, 75, of Warrensburg, NY, passed away on May 14, 2026 peacefully at his home.
“Dick”, as everyone called him, was born in 1951 to the late Clarence “Mac” McKee and Jane McKee and grew up in North Creek, New York. He married the love of his life, Barbara “Bobbie” Ann, on March 1, 1980 and lived happily with her until her death in 2021. He was her most devoted caregiver for three years before her death and cared for and loved her to the end. Dick was a proud lifelong Teamster and was known for his love of family and his sense of humor.
Dick and Bobbie Ann were avid campers and spent many years camping at Bulwagga Bay on Lake Champlain at their home away from home. Dick also had a lifelong love for motorcycles and vintage cars; he could often be found in his driveway cleaning his motorcycle.
Dick is survived by his devoted daughter, Vicki (John) Hunter of Greenwich, New York and his grandchildren Casey Ann Hunter (Anthony Bonacio) and Joseph Hunter. He is also survived by the following: Brother Daniel (Samantha) McKee of Queensbury, New York; son Shawn McKee (Brittany) and their children, Oaklynn and Taylor; daughter Carrie McKee, and her children Devon, Dayton, Heaven and Brianna. Dick also leaves behind his and Barb’s dearest friends, Kathy and Dave Monroe of Warrensburg who they shared countless trips, laughs and memories with.
Dick will be remembered as the most loving, funny, kind and present husband, father and grandfather. His devotion to his wife is admirable and inspiring.
Dick’s family will have a private gathering to honor his life at a later date.
