Obituary of Theresa A. Clayfield
Please share a memory of Theresa to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
CHESTERTOWN/THURMAN: Theresa A. (Cameron) Clayfield, 65, passed away on April 27, 2026, at Glens Falls Hospital, with her family by her side, following a courageous battle to recover from emergency surgery.
Theresa was born on December 29, 1960, at Glens Falls Hospital, to the late William Sr. and Joan (Belanger) Cameron of Thurman, where she was raised. She worked in housekeeping and waitressing for many years throughout the area before retiring due to declining health.
Theresa found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved camping in Minerva, spending time with her beloved dogs, Oreo and Mickey, crocheting, and sitting in the sunshine listening to old country music while watching the cars go by. A gift of apples could always bring a smile to her face and make her brown eyes sparkle.
Theresa loved the sound of thunder and had a quick wit with a contagious laugh. She especially enjoyed feeding the hummingbirds, something she looked forward to every May, collecting angels and elephants, and treating herself to ice cream from Martha's Dandee Creme.
In addition to her parents, Theresa was predeceased by her nephew, Billy Arnold; her dear friend, Donna Bennett; and many beloved aunts and uncles.
Left to cherish her memory are her children Kimberly Clayfield, Kerry Clayfield, Katie (Drew) Warner, Kristy (Aaron) Earley, Kayle Clayfield and partner Delbert, Thomas Clayfield and Jonathan Clayfield; siblings Lisa (Bill) Arnold, Joan (Don) Rafferty, Bill (Carolyn) Cameron Jr. and Jonelle (Larry) Bacon; grandchildren Max and Kara Lorman, Brooke and Jazmine Warner, Emily Carlton and Aaron Earley Jr.; great granddaughter Alice Estavane; Jason Lorman whom Theresa considered her son-in-law and her large family.
Theresa’s family would like to offer a special thank you to the ICU nurses at Glens Falls Hospital for their care, compassion, and support during Theresa’s two-and-a-half-month stay.
Per Theresa’s wishes, no services are scheduled at this time. A celebration of life will be held at a later date, during which an apple tree will be planted in her memory. Each bite of its delicious fruit will bring a sweet memory of her.
