Obituary of Scott F. W. Loveday
CHESTERTOWN: It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Scott Loveday. He departed this life on April 12th, 2026 at his apartment in Chestertown.
He was born on August 7th, 1971 to the late William and Margaret Loveday. He is reuniting with all of his siblings, Dennis, Tammy and Tina Loveday, who have all predeceased him.
Scott loved to talk about his adventures as a volunteer ambulance driver. He was a whiz at maneuvering the infamous Adirondack “s” curves in record time to assist and rescue many patients. He spent time working at the local Tops market where he made many friends whom he enjoyed visiting/harassing on his frequent shopping trips to stock up on the soda deals. Scott had a giver’s soul and made sure everyone he cared for never went without to the best of his ability.
He took extreme pride in being an amazing uncle to a bundle of countless nieces and nephews. He then became a great uncle and continued to dote (verb: dote, meaning to bestow excessive love or foolish fondness upon someone) on them with the same cherished memories we will all carry for years. Scott was never just a friend to anyone, he accepted many as his extended family. He will be missed by the masses of locals who knew him. It was impossible to take him anywhere without him having the chance of seeing at least one familiar face.
Whether it is his corny sense of humor, unsufferable candid demeanor, or the suffocating bear hugs that you miss, please know that if you knew Scott Loveday you are truly fortunate. He openly accepted, took time to know and goofed with everyone who took the time to be in his corner.
In honor of Scott Loveday, in lieu of flowers the family kindly asks that donations be made to the North Warren Emergency Squad, 2 Cougar Lane, Chestertown, NY 12817. This will help the community that Scott had a deep love for and lifelong roots in.
Visitation for Scott’s family and friends will be held on Monday, April 27, 2026 from 4pm – 6pm at Alexander Funeral Home, 3809 Main Street, Warrensburg, NY. A memorial service will be held at 6pm following visitation.
