Obituary of Mac B. Morey
Mac B Morey
May 17, 1961 – February 5, 2026
A gentle, caring and generous soul with the wonderful gift of gab has left us far too early. Mac was born in Glens Falls, NY to Kenneth and Lorraine (Perry) Morey.
He graduated with the class of 1979 from Warrensburg Central School and took up a career in photography; specializing in taking portraits of children and pets. From pet snakes to screaming kids to hesitant adults, there wasn’t anything or anyone he couldn’t get to smile or react in a portrait worthy way. His silly antics and crazy noises kept parents and pet owners coming year after year to capture each family’s progress through the years. The name of his business; Picture Perfect, told the story of his attention to every detail.
Mac particularly enjoyed his association with Florence LaPoint; a dance instructor and favored teacher. Not only did she teach him to tap dance but for many years he assisted Florence’s Operation Santa Claus fund raising efforts by donating his photography skills and proceeds of portrait sales to ensure better Christmases for local children.
From and early age, Mac enjoyed working with his hands crafting pipe cleaner Christmas ornaments, “I Love You” beaded bracelets for his 6th grade sweetheart to earrings boasting 200 feathers per earring and small wooden objects. For several years he worked in a furniture factory fashioning wood into tables, chairs and cabinets. Once again, his meticulous attention to detail and obsessive sanding of objects reflected his desire to make any job done, one that was worth doing well. This talent of working with his hands was one passed on to his sons; Masyn, Morgyn (Gabrielle) and Raymond.
For 20 years Mac worked in a stone quarry as a stone fabricator, guillotine operator and translator for its Spanish speaking employees. Most recently, Mac was a driver transporting vehicles for Autosaver in Fort Ann. He truly enjoyed both jobs.
The quarry is where he met the true love of his life and second wife; Dianna Wilbur, who brought a third son; Raymond into his life. Dianna and Mac married in September 2010 and have since welcomed 3 grandchildren; Mickey Morey (his favorite Grandson), Maverick Morey (his littlest Grandson) and Paisley Wilbur (Rosebud).
For all the enjoyment Mac found in his work, there was nothing that touched his heart as much as spending time with his wife and sons. Whether it was sitting around the fireplace in the back yard or a campfire on one of their many camping trips, or splitting and stacking wood for his winter’s heat, spending time with his wife and three sons was what life was all about. That he got the past few years to know his grandchildren was simply the icing on the cake; all captured on film.
In keeping with his generous nature, Mac was an organ donor and it is hoped that his passing has enriched the life of another.
Mac was predeceased by his Mom and Dad and a very special nephew; Christian Morey.
In addition to his siblings, children and wife, Mac is survived by his niece and nephew Jamien Richardson and Jace Richardson, great niece and nephew William and Ava Morey, his children of the heart Nastassia & Michael Wescott and his 6th grade sweetheart. His father and mother-in-law; Edward & Kris Greenwood, sister-in-law Courtney (Alex) Grauel and several cousins also survive him.
In lieu of flowers, Mac would truly appreciate donations be given in his memory to either of the following; Wait House, P.O. Box 3252, Glens Falls, NY 12801 or in thanks for the many times they transported him – the Warrensburg EMS, P.O. Box 157, Warrensburg, NY 12885.
