Please share a memory of Brian to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

WARRENSBURG:  Brian Angell, 68, of Warrensburg, New York, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2026, after a courageous and hard-fought battle with cancer.

Fifteen years ago, Brian first faced cancer with unwavering strength and deep faith. By God’s grace, his family was blessed with fifteen more precious years before the disease returned. True to who he was, Brian fought with everything he had until the very end, meeting each challenge with dignity, courage, and grace.

Brian was a devoted and loving husband to his beloved wife, Diane Angell, whom he cherished endlessly. He was a proud and devoted father to his daughters, Julie Angell (Klajd) and Kelly Angell (Sean), nothing brought him greater joy than the women they became. He was also a cherished grandfather to his grandson, Landon Winter, who filled his heart with immense happiness and pride.

Brian spent 25 years with American Airlines, a career he enjoyed immensely.  He was the only person many of us ever knew who truly loved going to work.  Brian arrived an hour early every day, not our of obligation, but because he genuinely wanted to be there.  Even after leaving at 1:30 in the morning, he would stop for coffee and savor the quiet ride to Albany, finding peace and purpose in the routine.  American Airlines was more than a job to Brian, it was a place where he felt proud, fulfilled, and deeply connected, and he carried that pride with him every day.

Faith and service were at the core of Brian’s life. From 2010 to 2019, he served on Catholic missionary trips alongside his daughters—an experience that meant the world to him. Following Hurricane Sandy, Brian organized his own Catholic missionary effort in New Jersey to help families in need, reflecting his generous, selfless heart and deep commitment to serving others.

Brian was always the first to offer a helping hand, no matter where or when it was needed. Known for his classic “dad jokes,” warm presence, and gentle humor, he had a way of making everyone feel safe, valued, and loved. Often described as a “human teddy bear,” Brian paired his tenderness with a joyful, childlike spirit. That playful side shined with his children, his nieces and nephews as they were growing up, and later with his grandson—creating memories filled with laughter and love that will be treasured forever.

He embraced life with quiet courage and humor and was always ready for the next adventure his wife talked him into.

Above all else, Brian was devoted to his family. He loved fiercely, gave endlessly, and lived with a kindness that touched everyone he met. He will be remembered for his faith, generosity, laughter, and the deep love he held for those closest to him.

Brian Angell was truly one of a kind. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched, the family he adored, and the love he gave so freely. He faced cancer with remarkable strength and grace, leaving behind a lasting example of how to live—with compassion, humility, and unwavering love.

Brian was predeceased by his father, Robert Bruce; his mother, Elizabeth Ann; his father-in-law, Charles Eck; his mother-in-law, Evelyn Eck; his brothers-in-law, Robert Eck, Richard Eck, and James Eck; also his nephew Timothy Eck.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Diane Angell; his daughters, Julie Angell (Klajd) and Kelly Angell (Sean); his grandson, Landon Winter; his brothers, Michael Angell, of Klamath Falls, OR; Scott Angell, of Falmouth, MA; Chris Angell (Stacy), of Queensbury, NY; and Tim Angell (Annie), of St. Johnsbury, VT; and his brothers- and sisters-in-law, Dan Irvin, Linda Eck Irvin, and Donald Eck (Karen) and countless nieces and nephews that he adored.

Brian’s love, laughter, and generous spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Sincerest gratitude to High Peaks Hospice.
