Obituary of Zan L. Ricketson

DELAWARE: Zan L. Ricketson, 79, of Middletown DE., passed away on January 10, 2026.  Zan was the oldest of four children born to Frank and Jean Ricketson of Warrensburg, N. Y.

Zan proudly served in the United States Navy.  His military service was a formative chapter in his life.  Following his time in the Navy he went on to build a successful career.

In 1983 Zan founded Aurora Software Inc. where he served as president spanning more than three decades.

Outside of work, his military service contributed to his deep love for the sea.  A passionate sailor, he spent countless weekends driving to Chesapeake Bay working on his sailboat with the assistance of Molly, his faithful and loving dog.

A private burial service will be held in Olmstedville, N. Y. in the spring.

Zan will be missed by his family, his best friends, and his brothers in life.
