Obituary of Thomas G. Bolton
ATHOL: Thomas G. Bolton, 83 years old, of Athol, NY passed away at Glens Falls Hospital on December 17, 2025.
Tom was born at home in Brant Lake, NY, on September 4, 1942, to the late George and Ann (Monroe) Bolton. He attended Brant Lake School but left at an early age to work and help support his family. Tom retired from the New York State Department of Transportation, where he especially loved driving the plow truck during the winter months. He also worked as a custodian at Warrensburg Central School where he was loved.
In addition to his career, he often took on side work, whether with Frank Planty or assisting local surveyors. Whatever he did, Tom was known as an exceptionally hard worker, continuing to cut, split, and stack his own firewood well into his 80s.
When not working, something that didn’t happen often, Tom volunteered with the Warrensburg Fire Department for many years. He also enjoyed tinkering with cars and anything mechanical. Above all else, he loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents, Tom is predeceased by his wife June Bolton; brother Steve Bolton; son-in-law Gil Frasier and granddaughter Athena Marie Kopczynski.
Left to cherish his memories are his children Thomas Bolton and his partner Bernadette Futia of Athol, Dawn Frasier of Athol and Kim (Ted) Kopczynski of Athol; sister Louise Robins of Brant Lake; grandchildren Jordan Frasier of Athol, Melissa (Matt) Searer of Moreau, NY, Aires (Ashley) Bolton of Warrensburg, and Ciera Bolton of Athol; great grandchildren Ben, Max, and Nora Bolton, Alivia Brattis and Eevey Bolton; Several nieces, nephews and cousins.
