Please share a memory of Michael to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

QUEENSBURY: Michael E. Baker, 66, of Queensbury, NY, formerly of Wevertown, NY, passed away on November 28, 2025, at his home with his loving family by his side, following a lengthy illness.

Mike was born on August 12, 1959, in Ticonderoga to the late Clifford and Polina (Frasier) Baker. He graduated from Ticonderoga High School and immediately enlisted in the United States Army. After receiving an honorable discharge, Mike began his career working on the railroad as a supervisor. He later held positions at Gore Mountain, The Copperfield Inn, and S&S Outdoors Landscaping, eventually retiring from his own business, M&R Landscaping.

In April of 1987, Mike met the love of his life, Rose Springer, at her cousin’s home. What began with a night of conversation and an Easter dinner grew into a lifetime of love. They were married on July 28, 2008, at the Ski Bowl in North Creek, NY, and celebrated 17 years of marriage this year.

Outside of work, Mike loved spending time in the outdoors—hunting, fishing, and especially camping. He began camping along the Hudson River as a young boy and proudly continued the tradition with his children and grandchildren. Above all, Mike’s greatest joy and deepest devotion were to his family. His wife, Rose, along with his children and grandchildren, were his world and his greatest accomplishment.

Besides his parents, Mike is preceded in death by his oldest son Michael John Baker; sister Sharon Tennyson; uncle Henry Frasier and best friend Mark Ellsworth.

Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Rose Baker of Queensbury, NY; his children, Heather Baker, his only daughter, and her fiancé Josh Blowers of Queensbury, NY, Thomas Gardner Baker and his fiancée Danielle Sprague of North Creek, James Edward Baker of Saratoga, and Richard William Baker of Queensbury; his brother, Clifford Baker of Wevertown, NY; his brother-in-law, Lavergne “Tom” Tennyson; and his grandchildren—the loves of his life—Eleanor Rose Charlotte Ballard, Calvin Charles Ballard II, Taner Silas Baker, Hayden Thomas Baker, Troy Baker, Logan Baker, Gavin Baker, Brennan Baker, and Carson Baker. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and his dearest friend, James French.

Friends may call on Mike’s family on Thursday, December 4, 2025, from noon to 1 p.m. at Alexander Funeral Home, 3809 Main Street, Warrensburg, NY 12885. The United States Army Honor Guard will give honors at 1 p.m., followed by a time of shared memories.
