Please share a memory of Wilbur to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
LAKE GEORGE — Wilbur G. Weaver, 71, of Lake George, NY, passed away peacefully on November 22, 2025, with his loving wife by his side.
Wilbur was born on January 1, 1954, in Altoona, PA, to the late Robert Sr. and Dorothy (Gibbons) Weaver. He graduated from Altoona Area High School in 1972 and went straight into a lifelong career as a truck driver. Wilbur drove throughout the United States and Canada, working for several local companies over the years. His love for driving extended beyond his work—he even spent weekends driving a tour bus simply for fun and to meet new people.
In 1995, while making deliveries to Nice N’ Easy locations across the North Country, Wilbur met the love of his life, Mary Paull, on a blind date. They were married in 2003, while home for a visit, at the Warrensburg Town Hall by Judge Nissan. In 2004, Wilbur and Mary chose to settle in Lake George, where they built their life together.
Wilbur had a tremendous work ethic, yet he still made time to enjoy the things he loved: volunteering as a Big Brother and riding his motorcycles—his favorite being his Gold Wing. As a lifelong truck driver, he was also an avid fan of Ice Road Truckers.
Besides his parents, Robert Sr. and Dorothy Weaver, Wilbur is predeceased by his brother, Robert Weaver Jr., and his nephew, Christopher Weaver.
Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Mary Weaver; his stepson, Brett Hagadorn; his brother, Jerry (Donna) Weaver; his sister, Dorothy Gish; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Memorial donations in Wilbur’s name may be made to Perry Road Baptist Church, 150 Perry Rd., Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.
Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
