Obituary of Stanley N. Prespare

Please share a memory of Stanley to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

WARRENSBURG:  Stanley N. Prespare, 77, of Warrensburg, NY, passed away at his home on November 15, 2025, with his family by his side after a long and courageous journey with cancer.

Stan was born on November 4, 1948, in Glens Falls, NY, to the late William and Ellen (Varnum) Prespare. He graduated from Warrensburg Central School in 1966 and went straight into the workforce, beginning his career driving truck for Emerson Oil Company. He worked for several companies throughout the years, becoming well known in the construction and excavating trades, and ultimately retired from Ellsworth and Sons Excavating in 2021.

On June 17, 1972, Stanley married his beloved wife, Lynn Keith, at the Methodist Church in Warrensburg. They shared 22 years of marriage before her untimely passing in 1994.

Stan had a passion for anything with a steering wheel—whether he was driving truck, racing his stock car at dirt tracks across the region, or simply taking a peaceful drive to unwind. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was an avid reader, especially of westerns. Above all else, Stan took joy in his wife and family.

Greeting Stan on the other side are his parents, Ellen and William Prespare, in-laws, Henry and Maxine Keith, several members of his extended family, and the love of his life, Lynn Prespare.

Left to cherish Stan’s memory are his son, Neil Prespare of Queensbury; his siblings Marie (Harry) Winters of Whitehall, Evelyn (Dan) Harrington of North Creek, William (Sun) Prespare of Aldie, VA, Dawn Koncikowski of Lake George, Renee Prespare of New York City, and Anna Bennett of Queensbury; his brothers-in-law Henry Bruce (Deborah) Keith and Brian (Kelley) Keith; Kayla (Cory) Connelly and her children, Jasonah, Sophia, and Noah Vernum; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Stan’s family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to his medical team, Christopher Mason and Autumn Webb, at the C.R. Wood Cancer Center, along with the entire staff, for their exceptional care and compassion. They would also like to thank High Peaks Hospice for the wonderful and compassionate support they provided.

Expressions of sympathy in the form of donation may be made to either the C.R. Wood Cancer Center, Pruyn Pavilion at Glens Falls Hospital, 100 Park St., Glens Falls, NY 12801; or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or at www.stjude.org.
