NORTH CREEK:  Ronald G. Grimes, 84, of North Creek, NY passed away on Thursday, August 7, 2025 at Glens Falls Hospital.

Ron was born December 17, 1940 in Igerna, NY, son of the late Luther and Gretta (Hammond) Grimes.

He owned Ron Grimes Excavating and Paving for approximately 40 years with his brother and sons working alongside him.

As his family was growing up, he enjoyed singing with the Seventh-day Adventist Church.  He also enjoyed motorcycle and horseback riding and boating on Lake George with his kids. Upon his retirement, Ron went back up to Igerna and enjoyed the cabin that he built while watching the abundant wildlife.  He also loved riding his Harley and Mule all over the North Country.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter, Rachelle L. Grimes and his niece Danielle Grimes.

Ron is survived by his longtime partner, Shelly Taylor; children Ron L. Grimes (Cheryl), Ronda E. Harrison (Bill), and Russell G. Grimes.  He is also survived by his sister, Ruth E. Lehrer (Bob) and brother, Archie M. Grimes (Jackie); Also, his grandchildren Ronnie Grimes, Ryan Grimes, Elizabeth Harrison, Billy Harrison, Nicholas Harrison, Shane Grimes, Amanda Grimes, Brooke Mozal, Makayla Mozal, 2 great grandchildren and 3 nieces.

A memorial service will be Sunday, August 17, 2025, 1:00pm at the Seventh-day Adventist Church, Bird Pond Road, North Creek, NY.
