Obituary of Barbara A. Wilson

CHESTERTOWN:  Barbara Ann Wilson, age 84, passed away on July 27, 2025, in her home in Chestertown after a months-long illness.

Bobbi was born in Troy, N.Y. on March 7, 1941, a daughter of the late Mary Elizabeth Ryan and Carl Alfred Hansen.  She grew up in Brewster, NY and began her collegiate studies at Buffalo State College, where she met her late husband, Doug, and where she earned her Bachelor’s degree.

Bobbi went on to complete her Masters degree, and taught art and ceramics to both junior and senior high school students at Lake George Central School.  A loving parent, she excelled at understanding her sons Jeffrey and David very deeply, cultivating and helping them build upon their strengths and interests. Doug’s last years were difficult, but she was supportive, tough, and by his side until the very end.

Bobbi will be forever cherished by her two sons, David (Karen Morgan) and Jeffrey, as well as her grandchildren: Douglas, Jessica, Richard, and Ryan.  She nourished our bodies and souls with her love of gardening and cooking, her art and her ability to see and enhance in ourselves what we were missing.

We will miss you Mom, so very much.

Per Bobbi’s wishes, services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
