Please share a memory of Patricia to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

CHESTERTOWN:  Patricia Albertus (Mitchell) Goodspeed, 88, of Chestertown, NY passed away peacefully at Glens Falls Hospital on July 6, 2025.

Patricia was born on February 25, 1937, in Schenectady, NY, to the late Joseph and Katherine (Gibbs) Mitchell. She graduated from Minerva Central School and went on to marry, raise a family, and dedicate herself to being a homemaker. Once her children were grown, Patricia held various jobs, but her 16 years waitressing at Smith’s Restaurant in North Creek held a special place in her heart.

She had many favorite pastimes, including traveling, visiting casinos, knitting and quilting, camping, working on puzzles, and enjoying Friday night game nights with her close friends—Carol Ann, Denise, Penny, Arlene, and Johnny. However, nothing brought Patricia more joy than spending time with her beloved family.

Patricia was predeceased by her parents, Herbert and Katherine Mitchell; her son, Randy L. Goodspeed; daughter-in-law, Katie (Place) Goodspeed; stepdaughter, Dawn (Palmer) Montgomery; son-in-law, George Locke; and her companion, Roy Palmer. She was also predeceased by her brothers, Charles (Kathleen) Mitchell and Allen (Wade) Mitchell; her sisters, Judith Mitchell, Carol Mitchell, and Janet (Mitchell) Harvey; and her sister-in-law, Nellie (Wells) Mitchell.

Left to cherish Patricia’s memory are her children: Debra Locke, Elaine (Hugh) Goodspeed Matson, Ronald (Deborah Bennett) Goodspeed, Sandra (Larry) Warner, Jeffrey Goodspeed, and Keith (Sonia) Palmer; her brothers, Donald Mitchell and David (John) Mitchell and his wife Pamelia; and her sister-in-law’s, Linda Minor and Shirley (Alvin) Provoncha. Patricia’s grandchildren were her greatest joy and source of pride: Nicole (Eric), Danielle (Allen), Kensey (Jim), Derek (Emily), Craig, Logan (Sarah), Darren (Siera), Brandon (Rebecca), Kiera (Conrad), Naomi, Ivy, Scott (Kristen), Ezra, Ashley, Kevin, Derek and Ishiah. She was also blessed with 24 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins—her cherished extended family and her cat Joz-whom she deeply enjoyed spending time with.

Patricia’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to her dear friends Barbara, Helena, and Bruce for their love, support, and friendship.

A private family celebration of life will be scheduled at a late date.
