Obituary of William E. Hackenberg

THURMAN: William E. Hackenberg, 60, of Thurman, NY, passed away peacefully at home on July 3, 2025, with his fiancée by his side.

Bill was born in New Jersey on December 6, 1964 to the late Gertrude (Roper) Hackenberg. He spent his early years in New Jersey, working in various roles across the state. He enjoyed woodworking and relaxing with his favorite TV shows.

In 2010, Bill relocated to the Adirondacks, where he met the love of his life and neighbor, Renee Walker. They enjoyed country life and time together. Bill had many dear friends over the years who will mourn his absence. Bill did not know what the Adirondacks had to offer when he moved there but quickly learned a slower way of life that he grew to love.

Left to cherish his memory is his fiancée, Renee Walker.

A celebration of Bill’s life will be held at his home, 928 Glen Athol Road, Warrensburg, NY, on Saturday, August 23rd, 2025, at 1 p.m . All are welcome to attend. Bon fire to follow. Please bring a dish to pass.
