Obituary of Robert Kenneth Alger
WARRENSBURG: Robert K. Alger was called for his final roofing job in the sky, passing away on May 25, 2025, at the age of 69.
Born on August 20, 1955, in Glens Falls, NY, to the late Kenneth and Dorthea Alger, Bob graduated from Warrensburg Central School in 1973 as a three-sport athlete and went on to attend SUNY Brockport. He was the owner of the Warrensburg Fruit Market for many years before operating Alger Roofing.
Bob was extremely humble, and his journey enabled him to touch many lives. His generosity knew no bounds—he was always there to help someone, gladly giving his last dime to others (and many times did). Not only did Bob enrich the lives of so many, but they also enriched his life, for wealth is not measured by the amount of money in your bank account, but by the good you do for others. Bob lived life to the fullest with a youthful spirit and a kind and beautiful soul.
Besides his parents, Bob is predeceased by his sister, Kathy Moffitt.
He is survived by his loving daughter, Kate Rabeler (Zach); sisters Jeannie Mosher (Chuck), Cindy Moffitt, and Joyce Rafferty (Pat); niece Tammy Cummings (Scott), and Mattison Viele; nephew Darin Rafferty (Nicole), Malia Rafferty; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Bob would like to thank his many friends (far too numerous to list) for making him a wealthy man.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to: Mark Trapasso, Aidan Szabo and family, The Fuller Family, Jason Miller, Larry Lawler, Billy and Niki Oehler, Frank Witz, Tim Connelly, Slugger Corlew, Pastor Joe, Steve Venton, Tammy Rounds and, Nurse Craig, the staff at Albany Med, the staff at The Pines, Dr. Stoutenburg and his staff at the C.R. Wood Cancer Center, Lexi Butler at Arrowbank, Dr. Kashinsky and her staff at HHHN, Dr. Ravilla and his staff at NY Oncology and Hematology, and the Warrensburg EMS staff.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Bob’s memory can be made to: Warrensburg Emergency Medical Services, P.O. Box 157, Warrensburg, NY 12885
We are sure Bob is currently enjoying a piece of banana nut bread with his beloved mother Dot, watching a horse race or a Packers game.
