

Obituary of Harold E. Moffitt
QUEENSBURY: Harold E. Moffitt, 77, of 1264 West Mtn. Rd., Queensbury, formerly of Chestertown and Warrensburg passed away peacefully at his home on April 14, 2025 with his loving wife by his side.
Harold was born October 3, 1947 at Glens Falls Hospital the son of the late Elwin and Rosetta Moffitt.
He was a graduate of Chestertown Central School, (now North Warren Central) and went on to graduate from Albany Business College with a degree in accounting. He then managed the Seward Family Restaurant on Bay Rd.
While a patient in Glens Falls Hospital, he met his wife to be and were married July 28, 1973 and have spent the last fifty-one years through thick and thin, as a loving couple together.
Harold was a proud member of the BPOE Elks Lodge 81 of Glens Falls and served on the board of Warren-Washington County Hospice now known as High Peaks Hospice, and the Warrensburg Town Zoning Board.
Harold was a member of the Church of The Holy Cross in Warrensburg where he served 12 years on the vestry. Together Harold and Susan ran the Korner Store in Chestertown from 1979-1989 and during that time Harold attended Hudson Valley Community College and earned a degree in Mortuary Science. One of Harold’s proudest achievements was becoming a funeral director where he worked at Regan and Denny Funeral Home in Queensbury along with helping John Kelly at the Kelly Funeral Home in Schroon Lake.
Harold dearly loved his family and becoming a grandfather brought him great joy.
Besides his parents, Harold is predeceased by his sisters Ethel Hayes, Wilma Eldridge, Elizabeth Belden, Ann Moffitt, Alice Prosser, June Potter and brothers Clifford Belden, David and George Moffitt.
Left to cherish Harold’s memory are his beloved wife of 51 years Susan, son, Jonathan; daughter, Jamie and her husband Chad; and his cherished grandsons, Julius and Miles. He is also survived by his sister-in-law’s, Myrna Belden and Cindy Moffitt as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins.

Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, April 24, 2025 from 3:00pm to 6:00pm at Alexander Funeral Home, Warrensburg, NY. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, April 25, 2025, with burial to follow at Warrensburg Cemetery.
