Obituary of Linda Alice Wilcox

Please share a memory of Linda to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

CHESTERTOWN:  Linda A. (White) Wilcox, 74, of Chestertown, NY, passed away peacefully at her home on February 27, 2025, with her family by her side.

Linda was born on May 15, 1950, in Granville, NY, to the late Anson and Ruth (Priest) White.  As a teenager living in Fort Ann, she fell in love with her neighbor, Robin Wilcox, at the age of 15.  They were united in marriage at 17 on May 10, 1968, in Bolton Landing, NY.  This year would have marked their 57th wedding anniversary.

Robin and Linda built a home in West Fort Ann, where they began their family.  In the mid-1980s, seeking more sunshine and better job opportunities, Linda, Robin, and their family moved to Florida.  However, after a year, they realized it wasn’t the right fit and returned to North Creek.  Linda’s career was one of the toughest-she devoted herself to being a stay-at-home wife and mother.  Despite the challenges, she also found time to volunteer at the Mountainside Bible Share Shop in Schroon Lake and North Country Ministry.

Linda enjoyed sewing, making quilts, and cooking-especially her famous lasagna.  She also loved making fancy cakes, working on puzzles, and taking walks.  Linda had a great love for animals but most importantly, she cherished spending time with her family.

Besides her parents, Linda is predeceased by her siblings Anson “Buddy” White, Michael White Sr. and Dawn Stone.

Left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband, Robin Wilcox Sr. of Chestertown; children Robin (Lavern) Wilcox Jr. of Bolton Landing, Valerie Whiting of Chestertown, Dan Wilcox and his girlfriend Mary King of North Creek, and Tim Wilcox of Chestertown; grandchildren Anthony (Jessica) Wilcox, along with their children Landon and Quincy Wilcox of Corinth, Tanisha Wilcox of Wells, VT, Micah Wilcox of Fort Edward, and Jeffrey Whiting III and his fiancé Deb Bent, along with their children Kaitlyn and Paisley Whiting of Pottersville; siblings Pam (Garry) Andrus of Greenwich, Connie (Jim) Provoncha of Hudson, NY, Ronnie (Darlene Errichetto) White of Peru, MA, Dana White of Peru, MA, Richard White of Fort Edward and Arleen (Jerry) Greenough of Chilhowee, VA; brother-in-law George Stone of Queensubry; sister-in-law Debbie White of Hudson Falls as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
