Obituary of Matthew E. Allen

WARRENSBURG:  Matthew Edward Allen was born on the 7th of December, 1969, in the small town of Schroon Lake, NY.

Matt defined himself through his work, demonstrating his stick-to-itiveness while accomplishing more than anyone back home ever told him he could. From the highest of heights to the deepest of depths, Matt traveled coast to coast and even ventured as far as the Bahamas in dedication to his job. Whether logging, trucking, operating cranes, or even water-blasting ships in the docks of Montreal, Matt never shied away from the dangerous jobs that needed doing. His work ethic stemmed from his vow to never let his family endure the hardships that defined his youth.

Matthew is survived by his family, his numerous friends-turned-brothers, all those who loved him, and those who stayed by his side until the very end, when he passed away at 11:54 a.m. on February 19, 2025, after a brief battle with cancer.

Friends may call on Matt’s family from 4pm – 6pm, Thursday, February 27, 2025 at Alexander Funeral Home, 3809 Main Street, Warrensburg, NY.

The spreading of Matt's ashes will occur privately with family this spring.
