Such sad news. Always a pleasure to see him at any ski function. He was funny, generous and kind. A short or tall tale was always told and you always left the conversation feeling just a bit better about this World. My deepest and heartfelt condolences. I was lucky enough to share a Birthdate with Pat Oct 19th. though I am a bit younger in year not likely spirit. Peace to all who loved him. He was one of a kind.

Sorry to learn of your loss. Pat was a character who loved and lived life to its fullest. He had a zest for life and a booming personality. He was certainly a unique individual and there will never be anyone quite like him.
I drove rafting busses for Pat for several years but our family relationships go back much further than that. Pat's father, Butler, was my sponsor when I received my sacrament of conformation. I received my first set of skis from "Santa Claus" via Cunningham's store located on the corner of Main St. and Rt.28N. My wife Helen was a classmate of Pats, and his older brother Dick was a classmate of mine.
I have many fond memories from my youth growing up with the Cunningham siblings, one of which was playing basketball in the icehouse located behind the store. The ice had been sold during the summer months and only the sawdust that was used for insulation was left. We installed a makeshift hoop on the wall and that became our basketball court. What a dusty mess it was. It's a wonder we didn't destroy our lungs with all the dust storms that we created. I cherish the memories.
Rest in peace Pat, my thoughts and prayers go out to your family for their loss.

I really don't recall ever seeing Pat without a smile on his face, though sometimes that smile looked like he'd just gotten away with something. It's a sad loss for the community. He was connected through his mom and dad to the very beginnings of skiing in this country and helped so many people get their start sliding downhill with grins on their faces. RIP Pat. You will be remembered and missed.

I worked with Pat for the 10 years he was with Torrington and pat was a very accomplished engineer with a practical mind. There is no question everything he did and everyone he met were better off for knowing him. Pat had a great sense of humor and was light on his feet using it. Rest in peace Pat...you did well for yourself and us that knew you.
