Obituary of Terry S. Lavergne

Terry S. LaVergne, 53 of Burdick Ave., passed away Saturday, December 1, 2012 from injuries sustained in a hunting accident.
Born February 18, 1959 in Glens Falls, he was the son of the Joan Bennett of Sedona, AZ and the late Phillip G. LaVergne.
He was a lifelong resident of the area, graduating from Warrensburg Central School in 1977, where he excelled in baseball, soccer, and downhill skiing. Following high school he enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving in Germany before his discharge.
Terry began his construction career working on such projects as high rises, water treatment plants, and various other commercial and residential buildings for 25 years prior to beginning his own endeavor, LaVergne Construction in 2002.
Terry was well known for his work ethic and his love of football and movies.
He was an avid outdoorsman who lived for hunting and fishing with his buddy, Larry Deloria, he also enjoyed four wheeling, camping, spending time with his family, and playing pool and cards with Todd Kelly and other good friends. Terry was also a life member of the NRA.
Besides his father, he was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Ken and Ethel Bennett.
Besides his mother, Terry is survived by his sons, James K. LaVergne, and Phillip J. LaVergne, both of Glens Falls; one grandson, Gaege LaVergne; sister, Michelle Randle and her husband, Bill of Summerville, SC; brothers, Todd LaVergne and his wife Linda, also of Summerville, SC, and Tim LaVergne of Texas; his ex-wife, Shari LaVergne of North Creek; and his companion, Deb Hamblin, and her son, Kade, both of Warrensburg. He also leaves behind several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.
Friends may call on Terry’s family from 5 to 7 pm, Friday, December 7, 2012 at Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg.
A funeral service to celebrate his life will follow the visitation at 7:00 pm, Friday at the funeral home.
Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
