Gordon N. Graves Jr., 81, of Lake George passed into eternity on July 3, 2020 after a short illness that was not COVID-related. He was born in Big Hollow in Lake George in 1939 and attended Lake George Schools. Gordon was preceded in death by his beloved mother Marion M. Graves and his father Gordon N. Graves Sr., Sisters Nancy (Harry) Alger of Thurman & Joann (Kenny) Harris whom he loved dearly. Gordon is survived by his wife of over 6o years, Jenny S. Jarvis-Graves, and his children Starr (Dan) Rafferty of Lady Lake, FL, Gordon (Tracy) N. Graves III of Schroon Lake, Scott (Sylvia) Graves of El Paso, TX, Luke (Eric) Graves of Christiansburg, VA, and Louise (Clifton) Nelson of Fort Ann and his beloved sister Marion Graves (known as Mernie to those that love her) of Big Hollow, Lake George and younger brother Jim Gravel of Minnesota, as well as 8 grandchildren and a passel of great grandchildren. Gordon served the nation faithfully in the U.S. Air Force where he met and married Jenny in Roswell and then Carlsbad, NM. He was a lifelong resident of (Caldwell) Lake George and generations of his family are interred in Caldwell Cemetery. He worked his early years at Hall’s Boats where his father had also given decades of service. He loved building boats, fixing engines, building Adirondack chairs, reading western novels and puttering around his workshop. Gordon impacted those who knew him and he will be remembered fondly. Gordon was interred at the Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery and a small military ceremony was held and Mr. Dan McCarthy kindly added Christian intentions.
