Joanne “JO’’ M. (Howard) Mason, 67, of Hudson Street, went to be with the Lord, now to be our Guardian Angel, Sunday, December 9, 2012 at the Glens Falls Hospital after being stricken at her home
following a brief illness.
Born May 7, 1945 in Claremont, NH, Jo was the daughter of the late Percy and Marie (Pond) Howard.
Jo was a lifelong resident of Claremont NH, where she attended school.
She Married Paul A. Mason, Jr. and was married to him for many Years.
She was an active member of the Lake George American Legion women’s auxiliary for over six years and prior to that, she belonged to the American Legion of Claremont NH. She was an avid New York Yankees fan who also had a great love for Hockey.
Jo was well known for her cooking abilities, especially her meat pie and her meat stuffing. Mom loved watching her spooky movies, listening to country western music, as well as gardening.
If Jo didn’t agree with you, she would simply tell you to “Get Bent,“ which was her favorite saying.
She was a devoted mother, grandmother of 14, and great-grandmother of 11, as well as a great friend. Jo was a Kidder and loved being a mother of 6. She was an amazing woman with so much love for those she cherished,
Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her brothers, Richard and Roy Howard, both of Claremont NH.
Left to cherish her loving memories are her beloved children: Lea Thibault Walker of Warrensburg; Celina “Togie” Mason Sands of Ocala, FL; Tanya “LINKY” Mason DuFore and her husband, Thomas of Lake George; Paul “LIL MAN” Adams Mason, III of Searsport, ME; Johanna ”Joey” Mason Stone of Claremont, NH; Adam “Ant” Howard Mason of Warrensburg;
her brother, Roger Howard of Charlestown, NH; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins, that touched her life .
At keeping with Joanne’s wishes, there are no calling hours or funeral services scheduled.
Scattering of moms remains will be conducted privately at the convenience of her family.
