I knew "Sonny" somewhat while attending SUNY Plattsburgh although we were not in the same class.
The last time I saw Chuck was at a ball game in Willsboro. After getting that rare base hit, I managed to steal 2nd.I knew I could steal 3rd as well due to his shoulder problem.
Was I fooled. He told me after the game that he threw to 2nd on a hop because he knew I would TRY to steal 2nd.
On that long journey to 3rd, with still 10 feet to go, I saw Freddie Rowe stsnding there with the ball in his glove. I was way out. After the game Cruck let me know that he set me up knowing I would attempt another base.
Quite a memory of a very nice person.

I believe you can tell much about the character of a man by the quality of his sons and daughters.
I never had the pleasure of meeting Charles DeVitto but I work daily with his daughter Kim Grippa and have the utmost respect for her.
Surely, Mr. DeVitto bears much of the credit for the fine person she is.
I extend my deepest sympathy to Kim and her family and pray for your comfort and strength.
