I will miss Hial. I spent much time with him when I was a young man and he taught me a lot about trapping and the woods in general. Hial was always very good to me and treated me with respect and kindness. Yes, Hial could be a bit rough around the edges, but he was good inside and I hope to see him in the afterlife.

Very sorry to hear of Hials'passing. He was a good friend with a great sense of humor that we will all miss. Trapping "rats" with him at Dunhams bay and Lake Champlain was some of the most fun I have ever had. He was always very generous in sharing his knowledge of wildlife and the best ways to trap them with the younger generation. I feel very fortunate to have known Hial and will certainly never forget him because everytime I set a trap I will be reminded of him.
