Obituary of Alfred Leslie Olden

Alfred Leslie Olden, 84, of Fourth Avenue, passed away peacefully, Thursday, September 6, 2012 at Glens Falls Hospital following a brief illness.
Born May 14, 1928 in East Aurora, he was the son of the late Frank R. and Coralynn (Baldwin) Olden.
Les was a 1946 graduate of Warrensburg Central School, before attending the University of Rochester. He then served in the United States Army in 1950, until his honorable discharge in 1952; later that year he married Patricia Rourke.
Les was a partner with his father and brother in F.R. Olden & Sons until 1988; he then operated the business under the name Alfred L. Olden Lumber.
He was a member of the American Legion and the Northeaster Lumber Association.
Besides his parents, Les was predeceased by a sister, Iris Lewis, and his brother, Frank B. Olden.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Patricia Olden of Warrensburg; his children, John L. Olden and his wife, Sharon of Park City, UT and Robert M. Olden of Warrensburg; and grandchildren, Macey, Ryder, Brandon, Brayden, and Brody.
At Leslie’s request, there are no calling hours scheduled.
He will be laid to rest in Gerald B. H. Solomon, Saratoga National Cemetery with full military honors at the convenience of his family.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations in Leslie’s memory to the Richards Library, Warrensburg.
