Obituary of Marielle L. Beaudet

North Creek: Marielle L. Beaudet, 82, longtime North Creek resident and former Queensbury resident died at the Adirondack Tri-County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, following a short illness, on Thursday, October 11, 2012. Born May 22, 1930, in Lotbinière, Quebec, Canada she was the daughter of the late Paul and Jeanette (Desrochers) Beaudet. She was the 8th child in a family of 15; she had 2 brothers and 5 sisters older with 2 brothers and 5 sisters younger. Marielle moved from Quebec to Tahawus in the1950’s to help her brother, Auguste Beaudet, who worked for National Lead Co. in Tahawus. She met and dated Maurice Beaudet (no relation), who also worked for National Lead in the payroll department. Marielle married Maurice on May 14, 1955, in Lotbinière, by Maurice's twin brother, Rev. Eugene Beaudet. They lived in Newcomb for a year before moving to Circle Avenue in North Creek in 1957. Marielle was a housekeeper in Montréal, before moving to New York State. She also worked as a housekeeper for Gloria Baroudi at the Alpine Motel in North Creek for over 2 decades. Marielle liked to cook, bake, tend to her garden, play the piano and accordion, and sing French-Canadian songs. She attended Catholic mass regularly at St. James Church in North Creek, St. Joseph’s Church in Olmstedville, and Our Lady of the Annunciation Church in Queensbury. Marielle was predeceased by her parents; her sisters, Lucie Falstreault, Gabrielle Leclerc and Aurelie Narbonne; and brothers, Edmond and Jean-Charles Beaudet. Marielle is survived by her children, Ernest and wife Holly Clare Beaudet of Selkirk, Denise Beaudet of Queensbury, and Roger Beaudet of Johnsburg; grandchildren, Palmer and Walter Clare of MA; her brother, Auguste Beaudet, who is currently a resident of the Adirondack Tri-County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in North Creek. In addition, she is survived by sisters, Pauline Tancrede, Jacqueline Tanguay, Clemence Bouffard, Aline Dupre, Claire Frechette, Therese Lapointe, and Marcelle Pellerin; and brother, Laurent Beaudet, of Québec, as well as several nephews and nieces. There will be no calling hours. Marielle requested to be cremated and buried with the earthy remains of her husband, Maurice. A burial service will be held at a future date. The family would like to thank the staff of the Adirondack Tri-County Nursing Home and High Peaks Hospice for their extraordinary care of their mother.
