Obituary of Marie E. Walker

New City/North Creek: Marie E. Walker, 88, went peacefully into the arms of the Lord, Thursday, April 18, 2013 following a long illness. Born December 25, 1924 in Avoca, PA, she was the daughter of the late Bernard and Elizabeth (Hannah) Anderson. Marie married Robert Walker and the couple spent many wonderful years together until his passing in 2008. She was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church in Canarsie, Brooklyn and later attended St. Clare’s Catholic Church on Staten Island. One of Marie’s greatest enjoyments was spending time with her beloved family, especially her children, grandchildren, and great-granddaughter. Many lasting memories were made at their “family camp” in Olmstedville. She enjoyed gardening, arts and crafts, needlepoint, and painting. Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her beloved husband, Robert Walker; her son, John Francis Walker; her brothers, Michael Anderson, John Anderson, and Fr. James Anderson C.S.S.R.; as well as her sister, Ann (Anderson) DeLeon. Marie is survived by her children, Patricia Ordway and her husband, Tom of North Creek; Suzanne Montalbano of Staten Island; Maryann Goldman and her husband, Tim Flaherty; and Robert J. Walker and his wife, Tonya; her grandchildren: Robert and his wife, Lisbeth, Thomas, Jonathan, Maria, Eric, Emily, Bobbie Marie, Gary, Rachael, Heather, Brianna, Cheyenne, John, Jade and her great-granddaughter, Little Michelle. She is also survived by her late son John’s beloved companion, Michelle Boulet and Little Raphaelle. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Francis of Assisi Church in West Nyack.
