Obituary of Shirley J. Whitbeck

Warrensburg: Shirley J. Whitbeck, 81, of River Street, passed away peacefully Saturday, January 26, 2013 at her home. Born July 27, 1931 in Schenectady, she was the daughter of the late George W. and Mildred H. (LaPointe) Cleiss. Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her brother, George Cleiss, Jr., and her beloved companion of many years, Jerry Eldridge. She is survived by her daughters: Jeanette Whitbeck of Glenmont; Patricia Whitbeck of Castleton; Luanne Whitbeck and her husband, Dean Long, of Slingerlands; Marjorie Catalano of Averill Park; Lois Frunz and her husband, Gary, of Sumter, SC; Allison Cranmer and her husband, David, of Shelburne, VT; her grandchildren and a great-granddaughter. There are no calling hours scheduled. A memorial service to celebrate Shirley’s life will be held at 1 pm, Saturday, February 9, 2013, at the Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg. Shirley’s family would like to express their gratitude to Patrick Eldridge, Duane Gillingham, Carl Brainard, Jeramy Dingman, and Diann Dimmick for helping Shirley remain in her home during her final years; and Dr. Nancy Carney and her staff of the Warrensburg HHHN.
