Warrensburg:
Myrna M. Belden, 93, of Mountain Avenue, passes away peacefully, Saturday, March 7, 2026 at Countryside Adult Home surrounded by her loving family.
Born May 3, 1932 in Bangor, Maine, she was the daughter of the late Alan and Alice Markey.
She was a graduate of Chestertown High School, class of 1950 and began her working years as a switchboard operator for the Upstate Telephone Company. She eventually began working for Warrensburg Central School as a cafeteria worker where she remained until her retirement in 1996 as the Cafeteria Supervisor and head cook.
Following her retirement, her and her husband, Cliff spent many winters at their second home in Trenton, FL.
Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her beloved husband of 57 years, Clifford Belden; brother, Alan Markey; and close friend, Jim Roden.
She is survived by two sons: Thomas C. Belden and his wife, Susan of Warrensburg; Bruce F. Belden and his wife, Cindy of North Creek; four grandchildren: Thomas C. Belden, Jr. and his wife, Doriene; Brett S. Belden and his wife, Kate; Stacy Poirier and her husband, Rob; and Ryan Belden and his fiancé, Kirstyn; sisters-in-law, Susan Moffitt and Cindy Moffitt; as well as several great-grandchildren.
Friends may call on Myrna’s family from 2-4 pm, Thursday, March 12, 2026 at the Alexander Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will immediately follow the visitation at 4 pm at the funeral home with Rev. Nancy Barrow, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Countryside Adult Home, 353 Schroon River Rd., Warrensburg or to High Peaks Hospice.
